Free bulky waste collection and delivery applies only to waste from private households within the District of Friesland.

Bulky waste from public institutions (schools, authorities), self-employed individuals (agriculture, medical practices) as well as clubs,

associations and other commercial enterprises, rentals (holiday apartments, campsites, etc.) may not participate in the

free bulky waste collection. In these cases, the Commercial Waste Ordinance applies, with its requirements for separation and the recovery of materials

outside of public waste disposal services.

• Which documents are required?

To register, use the bulky waste card, online registration, or call Augustin Entsorgung Friesland at 04421 / 500 49 50 00.

The card is available at the district building and in the town halls of the cities and municipalities.

• What fees apply?

None – provided the following conditions are met, disposal is free of charge for private households.

The collection of up to 5 m³ of bulky waste per request is free of charge in each case.

Self-delivery from private households to waste disposal facilities is free of charge up to a total quantity of 4 m³/year.
Maximum quantities:

Wertstoffhof Varel, up to 2 m³ per delivery day

Abfallwirtschaftszentrum Wiefels up to 2 m³ per delivery day and

Abfallumschlaganlage Wangerooge up to 0.5 m³ per delivery day)

Quantities exceeding these limits can only be accepted at the AWZ and will be charged according to the posted price list.

Residual waste and construction waste are NOT considered bulky waste.

• What deadlines do I need to observe?

Collection within a maximum of four weeks. The date will be communicated in writing.

Place bulky waste out by 6:00 AM on the day of collection, at the earliest on the evening before the collection day.

For bulky waste collection, there is the option of express collection or collection on a requested date (mainland only). Dismantling or carrying out bulky waste can also be commissioned as an additional service. Orders are placed via the Online Portal of the District of Friesland.
