Augustin Entsorgung handles the disposal, processing, and sorting of hazardous waste at its three locations in Herzlake, Bremen, and Hohenhameln. This includes, for example, water contaminated with oil or other substances, workshop waste, acids and other toxic liquids, sludges, or solids.

These hazardous wastes must be transported, stored, and treated separately and with great care and expertise. Our specially trained employees and specialized vehicles enable safe transport to our locations. Here, after a thorough incoming inspection, the waste is processed using technical procedures or prepared for transfer to other disposal facilities through sorting and packaging.

As the requirements for processing and sorting hazardous waste are constantly increasing, we place great importance on the training and further education of our employees, a modern fleet, and continuously invest in new plant technology. The planned laboratory expansion at the Bremen site will enable more precise analysis of material flows, allowing for even better treatment.

Processing of oil-contaminated waste

In many industrial and commercial sectors, water can become contaminated with oils – this water cannot simply be returned to the normal cycle. Examples include wastewater from car washes or workshops, which contains oil and sand washed out of cars.

To separate the water from solid matter and oils, it must undergo chemical-physical treatment – this happens, for example, in our treatment plants at the Bremen site.

Ultimately, the re-purified water is fed into normal clarification and can be reused. The oil and oil-containing sand are incinerated in a hazardous waste incineration plant.

Collection and interim storage of special waste (mobile hazardous waste collection unit)

For cities and municipalities, we offer the service of our mobile hazardous waste collection unit. With this special transport vehicle, we drive to specific locations and collect special waste from private households. Our trained employees assess the materials and pre-sort them directly in the vehicle. Household special waste includes, for example, paints, varnishes, waste oils, batteries, or fluorescent tubes. Correctly separated, this waste is temporarily stored at our site and then sent for special waste incineration.

Collection with the mobile hazardous waste collection unit is covered by waste fees and usually incurs no additional costs for private individuals.

Production of pre-mixed waste

In a newly built processing hall, sludges, filter cakes, and other solid wastes such as paints and varnishes, printing ink waste, used honing and grinding agents, as well as absorbent and filter materials like oil-soaked cleaning cloths or protective clothing, are processed with the aid of absorbent materials such as sawdust. This ensures they can be safely disposed of in suitable and approved incineration plants, thereby also generating usable energy, among other things.
